For the Best Beaches in Costa Rica, Follow the Surfers!

When we recently met BookSurfCamps.com we put two and two together – their favorite surf spots in Costa Rica are pretty much the best beaches in Costa Rica. We don’t even surf, yet there’s something about the surf culture that is great to be around. Know what we mean? Maybe it’s the stunningly gorgeous locations surfers flock to, the laid-back vibe that’s core to the lifestyle, or simply the awe-inspiring rush of goosebumps one gets just watching them (accompanied with satisfied relief that you’re not actually putting your body through the waves washer). So whether you’re a surfer or not, we recommend enjoying this surfing guide to Costa Rica for having a great beach experience in this captivating part of the world. And all you have to do is follow the surfers!

A couple years back we enjoyed our first trip to Costa Rica and had a great time. For three weeks we took it easy in the Guanacaste Coast, a gorgeous area that is in the north western part of the country and on the Pacific. While we didn’t do any surfing, we got to meet some people who do in the little area of Brasilito, which is close to Tamarindo, one of the beaches listed in the surf guide.

If you visit there, definitely look up the Conchal Hotel & Papaya Restaurant for a fantastic place to stay and/or to eat at.

Amalia’s younger brother Brendan is a ‘surfer dude’ so his passion and excitement for the sport rubs off on us. Since he’s attending university at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, he gets to enjoy the sport regularly. And he’s in love with it! He considers the friends he surfs with to be his family in Corpus Christi.
